Lively Friday/Date Night!!

First date night in I can't recall how long - which means too long! - and I can't wait! We can't do anything too expensive, but that doesn't mean we can't go sit at a restaurant for while and chat, anything to get out of the house for a while!

Speaking of, I'm keeping the kids home from school today. It is the 'mandatory fun run' and YDD is still having health issues that we haven't figured out yet. Since she is staying home, I'm letting ODD stay home too. Neither of them have an unexcused absence, so one won't hurt. But, in order to not be a hindrance today or be lazy, they are going to get in a workout with me and help me with cleaning what I'd normally do. Then we can make cookies or something fun. Just us girls. Then their grandparents will come pick them up for a sleepover.

emoticon I lost 2 more pounds!!! I'm so excited! I met my first 5 pound goal!! I'm at 187!! I was going to just get this beautiful holographic rose gold glitter nail polish, but self care has become very important of late and I have never tried bath bombs, so.... going to get a 6 pack of those if I can, and take some relaxing candle-lit baths!! I really don't feel like I've lost 2 pounds, I feel bloated from eating hush puppies and brisket yesterday. But, my scale is well calibrated, and it is like one of those at the doctor's office and normally says what their scale says. Order processed! Bath bombs arrive tomorrow and nail polish next week! Now to log my weight on my 5% team! Go Starfish!! I totally was not expecting this weight loss because of my health this week, but I welcome it!!

emoticon I was reading (after a SP Friend mentioned it) that the belly fat could be a lack of strength training. so I'm making a effort to do pilates every day I work out and to do strength training every day I work out in another form, not just pilates. I'm not going to push myself too hard, my first day this week getting back to working out, but I am going to pay attention to how my body is feeling. I know exercise should help keep my heart rate up, it has gotten into the low 60's several times for no reason, even after having caffeine. Of course the first day I noticed it I thought I was having side effect of my heart rate being too high from caffeine. Boy was I wrong.!! I am determined to do what I can to get in shape, even if gaining muscle means slowing down my weight loss. Muscle is important and helps with metabolism.

I got my last keto/bariatric box yesterday, and it is making me rethink wanting it. I canceled because they kept leaving things out of my order, and I felt like I was wasting money, the things they left out were the things I wanted to try. I did try two things, that smelled and looked delicious, but were cardboard with a nice smell. I tried a tea bag style broth called Delight Pho, which needs salt, but was super yummy, if a bit peppery. I'll do a full review once I've tried everything, if that is allowed on SP? I'm going to order more of the Delight Pho, it will really help this winter!! I have a iced coffee protein drink that actually has caffeine in it to try, so I'll try it today. I usually drink beef bouillon when it is cold too. And lots of hot tea and coffee.

Okay, off to start my day with the kids and cleaning and some exercise. Balance. Have to wash the dogs today too, the mud from all the rain we got has them filthy!!
