November 1, 2019 LIVE IN TRUTH
We have all had some type of visions in our lifetime. Even in the Bible, we read of visions people had from God about what is to come. Visions come to us either consciously or unconsciously. Some are like dreams and some create ideas in our heads about something we could do. All visions, however, are not good. We hear of demonic visions and those who pretend to predict the future. Our job is to know what visions are truly from God and which ones are not. Having a right relationship with God will help us determine this. Spending time in His word will help us know what is true and what is not.
2 Thessalonians 2:2 “Don’t be so easily shaken or alarmed by those who say that the day of the Lord has already begun. Don’t believe them, even if they claim to have had a spiritual vision, a revelation, or a letter supposedly from us.” (NLT)
1. Write what you have heard others predict.
2. List the times these predictions did not come true.
3. Measure everything others say with God’s word.
4. Understand there will be false teachers and strive to live in truth.
Dear Lord, we know there are many false teachers in this world. They say they have visions and see things in the future that are just not true. Help us to know what is true, real and only from You. We want to be wise and understand all things must line up with Your will and Your word. Help us to stay in Your word and stay connected to a body of believers who can help us know the truth. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
When we stay in God’s word, we will know what is truth and what is not.
Jeremiah 14:14 “Then the Lord said, ‘These prophets are telling lies in my name. I did not send them or tell them to speak. I did not give them any messages. They prophesy of visions and revelations they have never seen or heard. They speak foolishness made up in their own lying hearts.’” (NLT)
When we stay connected to a body of believers, we can stay strong and resist false teachings and visions.
2 Thessalonians 2:15 “With all these things in mind, dear brothers and sisters, stand firm and keep a strong grip on the teaching we passed on to you both in person and by letter.” (NLT)
God’s grace, love, mercy and peace will be with us when we choose to live in truth and not believe everything we hear from this world.
2 John 1:3 “Grace, mercy, and peace, which come from God the Father and from Jesus Christ—the Son of the Father—will continue to be with us who live in truth and love.” (NLT)
