Wednesday Afternoon.

Wednesday, October 30, 2019

Here it is already Wednesday. And I am so late getting here today. I had to go grocery shopping as we were almost out of milk, and hubby was out of Butterscotch Pudding cups. Now I myself would prefer homemade pudding but hubby, nope, has to be store bought, just like the Chicken Noodle Soup, has to be canned. I sometimes wonder about his mother cooking, as he like stuff out of a can, where I like things homemade, and there is a lot of things he will not eat. Now when we first got married, I found out that at home they NEVER had chicken, as his dad didn't want anything to do with it, he said that was about all they had to eat during the 30s and he wasn't eating anymore of it. So I had to introduce him to Fried Chicken, and nope didn't like it, as there was to many bones, really the leg only has 1 big bone. lol, But he does like Chicken breasts, and I find them sort of dry, but I grill then and bake them for him, and they aren't bad, but I prefer go old fried chicken.

I found out today that I really, really miss hubby helping with bringing the groceries in, as it took me for ever to get everything brought in and put away. Then fixed myself some chicken Alfredo with broccoli and fettichini (?) noodles. Oh, Yum so good. And have a beef roast in the crock pot for supper. So to me, today is really eating high on the hog. But there is only 2 meals today, and a after supper snack. So just have to watch portions.

Tomorrow morning I have to make sure I am up a little early as Shorty and Kinney, have to be to the vet between 8 and 8:30 for their snip snip surgery, and then will have to pick them up sometime in the afternoon. So have to remember tonight to put their dry kibbles up out of sight, and pot Shorty, he is such a foodie, that he is going to think I am the most horrible person to not feed him right away in the morning. So I am thinking that I will take them over right away, and feed Finn, and the outside chores until I get back. May make it less of a hassle, and just easier on all. Just will have to make sure Hubby wakes me up.

Should go out and mow this afternoon, but I just can't talk myself into doing it, when I have to wear gloves and a coat. Just isn't right. So will just clean her in the house, and maybe finish a craft project this afternoon, that is if the plaster in dry enough. So you all take care and have a lovely Wednesday. Linda

I am working backward again as I have tried limiting how much time is in front of the computer.

I LOVE chicken! Any way but raw. My uncle was the same way: they had chicken three meals a day and eggs. I finally got him to eat it before he wing and he loved it.

Good luck to Shorty and Kinney!

Yes, I ate a lot of chicken growing up, too, but I still like it!

Good luck w/your chores today. Busy day for you.

I'd take homemade chicken noodle soup over canned anytime. Homemade is so much better. As for chicken, I love it fried, baked, grilled, and most anyway you fix it. It was just something I loved from a kid. My Mom didn't do fried chicken at all, cause my Dad didn't really like fried foods. But I remember one of my girlfriend's Dad made fried chicken that was out of this world. Strange how I can still remember that, and at times I forget why I came into a room.

I love easy cook days. Hubby is really pretty easy about that, so I don't worry when I don't fix a big meal. Actually we usually don't eat big meals anymore, only when I fix a dinner for when my son comes over. That was the case tonight. Had pork chops, baked potatoes, cucumber and tomato salad, fresh rolls, and corn.
    One of my hubby's favorites.

I love homemade chicken noodle soup but when I'm sick it has to be Campbell's! Lots of good stuff to eat at your house today!

I like help with the groceries too, but hubby usually isn't home when I get mine. My mom bought me a little cart with wheels (at a garage sale) that I use. We have to walk up a hill to get to the house. Hubby makes fun of me using the cart, but It works great if I have a lot of bags to carry.

My hubby doesn't care for chicken much either. He mostly likes white meat and I prefer dark. So we have a freezer full of beef and doctor doesn't want him eating beef but a couple times a week!
Hope your kitties do okay at the vet. I just took a cat in to be fixed for my mom. She adopted another one that showed up and wouldn't leave. That makes 4 kitties! HA!

I always appreciate husband help with the groceries. Your cooking sounds yummy to me. Never heard of a man who doesn’t like fried chicken.

I know what you mean about having help with carrying in the groceries. Where I park is downhill from the house, so it means numerous trips up and down 13 steps. I get a good workout in!
