Marking the Day

HI Friends! I've been away from Spark for a few months because life took over. Family health problems, work etc etc etc. I managed to maintain my weight and my sanity (for the most part!) by cutting back on have-tos, but I feel like I'm ready to start asking a little more of myself now.

I'm happy to be back - I've missed you!

Lately, I've changed the way I shop and eat to accommodate new restrictions in my husband's diet due to possible drug interactions. All my life, having a full refrigerator and pantry have meant happiness to me. If I bought too much and it went bad, oh well. But my husband now is not allowed to eat anything aged, which means not only cheese and cured meats and some other things, but also anything that might have been in the fridge a little too long. So I am taking this as an opportunity to be more careful and less wasteful, doing more planning and keeping less food on hand. It's a different mindset. I am getting used to it and actually enjoying it. Chicken sweet potato chili tonight! Oatmeal and yogurt for breakfast this week because I forgot the eggs at the store today. Oh well, we have enough food and it's all good.

Day by day, I am finding my way.
