Day 34 of my journey / 3 things I am grateful for today (Oct 25 2019)

Friday, October 25, 2019

Am enjoying the journey I am on - though it would be nice to see the scale looking back up at me with better numbers. But I am hopeful that one day soon it will.

Still dealing with a cold though it is much better today which I am thankful for. On the down side I am having some trouble with the IBS - so am taking it a bit more slow with the changes as the vegetables seem to be reacting causing some discomfort - but am slowly which ones are causing the trouble. And am enjoying roasting them.

My walking is not going as well as I would have like - but that is my fault as I have not pushed myself hard enough to get onto the dreaded treadmill - but tomorrow is another day.

We had a horrible wind storm this morning - 1/2 the city lost its power with power lines down and one coming down onto a car. And then rain like never before. Seems to have quieted down - don't like it when it gets to blowing that way - but as I told my husband - with the wind today it blew all the leaves off of the tree out front so now he can do the raking of them.

3 things I am grateful for today are

(1) grateful that we didn't have any damage to our property from the wind storm today

(2) grateful that I was given some more yarn to make up baby blankets

(3) grateful that we have adequate money to meet our needs

My streaks to date are

Day 5 of not having to eat after 6:30 pm

Day 32 of blogging my journey here at Sparkpeople

Day 34 of logging on to Sparkpeople

Day 34 of tracking all my food and water

Day 34 of reading the Bible with my husband - we have started the Book of Job

With the IBS, try avoiding bell peppers and see if that helps. I eat beans twice a day with no gas, but peppers get me every time! Try snow peas or snap peas. The grocery store usually sells them fresh in bags. You said you like peas and they are very good with calories. I am getting some snap peas today since I have been craving them!

Be gentle with yourself about the walking this week. You're sick! Of course you can't work out like normal. Give yourself time to get your breathing back on track and you can tackle your steps again.

I'm glad your property wasn't damaged. I don't know if you're familiar with Lethbridge, Alberta, but that's where I used to live between 2006-2011. It was known as the Windy City. The good part is we would always get good chinooks after it snowed, but the bad part is that the winds would frequently get up to 100km! I have been literally blown off sidewalks before!

If it makes you feel any better, I stayed exactly the same weight-wise this week. I had the last day of my period yesterday and haven't gotten rid of my water weight yet. It will be a good weigh-in next week, I am not worried about it! Just keep doing good things and the scale will catch up! emoticon
