Day 32 (Day 1 of Month 2) of making changes / 3 things I am grateful for today (October 23 2019

Day 32 of making changes (means I am on Day 1 of 2nd month). Have learned lots this past month and now am going to start putting it into practice.

For instance tonight I used a new spice - turmeric - used it on my chicken and on the vegetables - was pleased with the taste so will be using it again. Today we bough a very large mason jar to hold our homemade vegetable soup. Looking forward to having some of it tomorrow. Made enough to last a week - hopefully. Turmeric, garlic and onion is the main spices in this batch of soup. Next batch, not sure yet.

I have mentioned in previous blogs that my breakfast and lunch are usually pretty much the same. During this 2nd month am going to work on changing my breakfast a little - rather than boiled eggs will be scrambling them with some vegetables and a little cheese. One vegetable that I know I will put in them is spinach but will experiment with others as well to see what the flavor is like but I am sure the spinach will be a success.

For movement / exercise the goal is to walk 1,000 steps each day and more if possible. I didn't wear my pedometer today at Walmart (forgot to put it on) but last time we went to shop I put on 1,200 steps so am thinking I got in between 800 - 1200. But tomorrow I will be wearing the pedometer to get more accurate number. This is going to be a bit of a challenge as I do have a cold and am quite congested but with having the dreaded treadmill should be able to stay warm walking inside and will do it in small spirts.

Bought more vegetables today - lots for the freezer - so am prepared to getting in my vegetables - whether in soup, in my protein drink, with breakfast or roasted at supper. But this month I will be getting more than month one.

Also will be working harder to get in all the water I need for a day as I have slacked off on this some. Goal is to have between 70 - 90 oz each day. I have a bottle that holds 30 oz so I need to fill it up 3 times to get in all the water - planning to get the first 30 oz down by lunch, the 2nd 30 oz down before supper and the last 30 from supper to bedtime (I am a late to bed person)

3 things I am grateful for today are

(1) grateful to have ears to hear the sound of birds singing

(2) grateful for the clean river that flows through our city - listening to the water rushing over the waterfalls that are only a short drive away

(3) grateful that I have health lungs that can breath in all the fresh air around me

    Frozen veggies are just as good as fresh, and some say even better because they're frozen at the peak of freshness. Glad to hear you have a good veggie plan!

    Spinach with your eggs sounds good for you - isn't there a dish called florentine? I think that would be what you plan.
