Getting back in a groove

I've gotten better about staying on a running/walking regime. I even went for a run last Thursday when I got home from work. It was a great way to spend time with myself and the fall colors. Although my legs were screaming at me to stop, I loved it. I went my furthest distance (3.5miles) in about a year. I was so proud of myself. Monday, I walked with a friend, but we still managed to go about 3miles. Yesterday I taught PiYo. My glutes are really talking to me as a result. I'm hoping my calendar allows me to go out for a little jog sometime today. I will make it happen!
I'm also proud of myself because I'm finally getting back into cooking. Back when I was super fit, I would bulk cook 3 times a week. That was almost 5 years ago. Since then, we've gotten into a horrible habit of eating on the run, which is easy to do when you're jumping from one practice field or lesson room to another with a 7 year old. But lately, I've been going shopping on my own and buying ingredients to make our old favorites. Last night, I cooked chicken with rosemary, baked sweet potato fries, and sweet corn. It was a pretty sweet meal :-) It was wonderful and my boys loved it.
I keep meaning to weigh myself. I'm not convinced I'll see the number go down. In fact, it probably has gone up since I've been working out more. My body always tends to inflate before the weight starts coming off. It's stubborn that way. I'm trying to go by how I feel and how my clothes fit. Everything is still tight and uncomfortable. I'm hoping that if I stay in this groove I'll start feeling a change within a few weeks. Certainly by Thanksgiving! I just have to stick with it!
