Thank You For Caring

Thank you to all who expressed their condolences to me on my mother’s passing. I wanted to share a beautiful sentiment I received from a fellow friend here at Spark People:
Parable Of Immortality
I am standing upon the seashore. A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength, and I stand and watch until at last she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come down to mingle with each other. Then someone at my side says, ' There she goes! ' Gone where? Gone from my sight... that is all. She is just as large in mast and hull and spar as she was when she left my side and just as able to bear her load of living freight to the place of destination. Her diminished size is in me, not in her. And just at the moment when someone at my side says, 'There she goes!' there are other eyes watching her coming... and other voices ready to take up the glad shout... 'Here she comes!' And that is dying. -- Henry Van Dyke
And yet another (lifetime) friend wrote this:
Your faith and love will see you through this time of grief. Knowing that she has only physically departed but her soul lives on forever will comfort you for years to come when we all finally meet again in joy. She and your father, with God, gave you the gift of a soul and you will never be parted from them. It is a time to rejoice and celebrate all they gave and all that will be.
So many beautiful sentiments have been expressed to me; I am grateful for them all and for all of you whom I do not know personally but who nevertheless pull together for this and other struggles in our lives. Thank you.
