30 day leave

Sunday, October 20, 2019

It is good to have my older son home but wish it wasn't for the reason of being injured. He goes back on Nov. 17th and won't know until he gets back if he has to start Basic all over or gets to pick up where he left off. He seems in good spirits and doesn't seem to be in much pain. He is not to drive so mom will be driving a lot more. Too bad that he couldn't stay 2 more weeks so would be home for my birthday and Thanksgiving. He said he should be able to get leave for Christmas. Lots of stories. We went to church and I went to gym and did hour on bike. my weight isn't where I hoped it would be but just keep working on it.
Have a great evening everyone.

I am sorry your boy got injured and I hope he has a speedy recovery. No doubt he will get lots of nurturing and some good cooked meals while at home with you.

Good that the Army let DS come home for convalescent leave. The link below is from the Army Times newspaper. Thought you might find the article of interest. It looks like stress fractures during basic is fairly common. Hope he has a quick recovery and doesn't have to start basic over.
