Highlight -
I've been wishing for a killing frost to get rid of allergens and EEE mosquitoes. However that also means the end of harvest and the end for the praying mantis below. No more local corn, peppers, eggplant, cauliflower, etc. I do not think the hard frost has happened yet as I am still being serenaded by crickets.

Thankfully we were able to enjoy a last hoorah of native corn. It is a taste that I will miss until next summer. Now it is time for root vegetables and hard squash.

Unfortunately, middle son back to a Brat diet. I made him a bone broth soup with potatoes. Tasty yet bland. Looks like a call to the doctor will be in order.

Grateful -
For washing machines.
Local farmers.
Good insects.

Gratitude is powerful...I love how you appreciate the gifts you receive each day. You’re a wise chica to understand they are gifts. I’m sorry your son still is struggling, good thing his Momma is on it. May he feel better.

Yes, while I welcome the frost for allergy relief, I DON'T like what's to follow!

Sorry your DS is back to the BRAT diet. Hope he is feeling better soon.
