emoticon I had surgery 2014 and lost 100 lbs and NEVER gained it back …
emoticon now the Journey CONTINUES as I learn HOW to continue portion controlled eating...

"Pre-Operative Bariatric Diet"

emoticonThis 10-day eating plan is intended for weight loss prior to bariatric surgery to decrease fat stores in the liver, allowing better visualization during surgery
and
also used for the long-term of healthier eating habits that
we need to create for ourselves from this point forward.
It is designed to TEACH us how to eat all over again
from scratch to create GOOD eating habits
with PORTION CONTROL.



emoticonDrink plenty of non-caloric, non-caffeinated, non-carbonated beverages, a minimum of 64 ounces per day.
These may include:
* Crystal light
* Herbal teas
* Sugar free Tang
* Sugar-free Kool-Aid
* Diet V - 8 Splash
* Diet Snapple
* Propel Fitness Water
* Sugar-free Jello
* Sugar-free popsicles
* Low sodium broth

emoticon3 times per day, consume 8 ounces of one of the following:
* EAS Advantage Edge Carb Control Shake
* Light yogurt with no chunks of fruit in it
* Carnation Instant Breakfast ~ NO sugar added, with skim milk, 1 % milk or low-fat lactaid milk.
* Atkins shakes
* EAS Advantage Whey protein powder mixed with water or skim milk
* UNJURY when protein www.UNJURY.com
* High protein pudding, sugar-free (available at GNC stores)
* Chike Nutrition shakes (www.csshakes.com)

emoticon1 time per day, consume ONE item from each of these 3 categories:

emoticonCategory # 1:
* 3 oz of chicken breast
* 3 oz of white fish or tuna
* 3 oz of pork loin
* 3/4 cup of egg whites
* 3/4 cup of legumes (beans)
* 4 oz of low-fat tofu

emoticonCategory # 2:
* 1/2 cup of whole grain pasta
* 1/2 cup of brown rice
* 1 oz. of whole wheat bread
* 4 oz. of sweet or plain potato

emoticonCategory # 3:
* 1 to 2 cups of cooked vegetables
* 2 to 3 cups of leafy greens (spinach or romaine lettuce)




This is an Example of the eating plan and beyond:

emoticonBREAKFAST:
* 8 oz of chocolate UNJURY whey protein shake

emoticonLUNCH:
* 8 oz of non-fat mile with
* vanilla sugar-free Carnation Instant Breakfast drink

emoticonMID-AFTERNOON SNACK:
* High Protein pudding

* 3 oz. of Tilapia fish
* 4 oz of sweet potato
* 1 cup of cooked broccoli
