Helping Mom Remember
Monday, October 14, 2019
Almost 2 mo. ago Mom had to be rushed to the ER blood sugar and blood pressure sky high. Mouth drooping. Eye drooping and could hardly walk. They were not sure if she had a relapse of Bells Palsy or a stroke. I personally think she had a small stroke.
She's better now, eye still droops and so does her mouth but she can walk with a walker.
They hard part is we have noticed that she is forgetting things. Like she can't even remember the house were she lives or that we mostly grew up there. Dr. said it is the beginning of Dementia and will get worse.
She does remember the old wooden house. My poor sister didn't remember it so didn't know what Mom was talking about. I had to explain it to her so she could help Mom.
Today talking to Mom we talked about the old house and then I told her stories about the one she does not remember. It hurts to know that one day it will be use that Mom does not remember.
Sorry to write something so sad but I just had to give my feelings a voice.
