Scintillating at Sixty - 6 months to go
Friday, October 11, 2019
Which means it's also six months since I started this monthly update on the subject. I was kind of thinking I haven't made much progress but then I have had quite a bit on my plate. 6 months ago I had only just found a solicitor who would get on with the conveyancing without 46 billion million trillion different documents, plus details of every breakfast I've eaten since I was 13 and 3/4, just to prove my identity. 6 months ago I was still under threat of repossession. 6 months ago I was only just arranging to come and view properties in this area. 6 months ago I hadn't exchanged contracts on the sale of my house. 6 months ago, my hair was falling out in clumps due to the stress.
So on balance, I think it's OK if I haven't made much obvious physical progress [in terms of appearance] towards being scintillating at sixty. After all, if all that has been sorted during the last six months, who knows what the next six months will bring? Granted there is still much to sort out over the next month or two but at least I don't need to juggle a squillion different things now. I can focus on the job at hand. Meanwhile I'm really looking forward to going 'home' for the weekend tomorrow and seeing friends, plus of course my children. Hopefully I'll make some progress on finding my feline family too. All in all, sure it will be nice if I'm looking as good as I can when I reach scintillating at sixty, but what will really matter is being surrounded by my loved ones.
