Another baby picture and some other thoughts (October 9 2019)

Wednesday, October 09, 2019

Just wanted to share another picture of my great grand daughters - here is one of Kaisley, age 2 holding her little sister McKenna age 2 days - what a joy to have them in the family.

3 things I am grateful for are

(1) grateful that my friend Melissa came for a visit today dropping off a gift basket - she is a certified personal trainer and I am part of her private online group on Facebook - we had a good visit and she was able to give me some good tips on how to get in the steps I am working on and also on strengthening my core

(2) grateful that my daughter had a good dentist visit

(3) grateful for the sun shining today though it was cold

I am enjoying my journey - and am looking forward to the many benefits of making small changes. Just knowing that I have improved my kidney function makes me jump for joy - so am looking forward to the next 6 months or so and having the next blood work done and see if it has improve even more - doc says it is very possible that another 25 pounds off and it could be back up to the normal range.

Am really notice things like how my body is responding to food. For instance I am learning that my body just doesn't digest hamburger well - so that will be put onto my 'No thanks I don't eat that' list for awhile. Melissa my personal trainer and coach from my facebook group suggested to take time and write of list of things I want to do such as 'I want to limit the meals eaten out to no more than 3 a month' or 'I want to eliminate going to fast foods restaurants such as A&W, Dairy Queen' or I want to eliminate hamburger to no more than once per month'. At any rate I am going to give it some thought and see what I don't want to do and change it to a I want to.

My streaks to date are

17 days of blogging 3 things I am grateful for and how I am feeling re my journey

Marilyn, your great granddaughters are precious … I have 7 great grandchildren - the oldest one is 14 and the youngest one is 4.. I don't get to see them very often, but still they are precious and I always enjoy them when I see them..

What an incentive for you to stay with your eating plan - we will be praying as the pounds come off, the kidney function will return to normal !

Hope your day is filled with lots of blessings !

The doctor gave you some good encouragement regarding your kidneys! I hope it comes true for you!

    The photo is precious!

It is definitely a good idea to set those types of food goals and put them in writing. My husband (who is on Spark with me) and I have reduced the number of restaurants we go to now to only the ones where we can eat Spark-friendly. We only eat out once a week, and that's usually just a Subway Veggie Delite before grocery shopping. Occasionally he is off from work on a Saturday (our grocery day) and we'll go to our favorite place where I get a southwestern tofu wrap with a fruit salad on the side. I was hoping to do that tomorrow when he's off, but I think my volunteer job needs me again. Another day then!
