Whaddya mean one way?

A person I've worked with before referred me to a company staffing a short contract in Louisiana in December. So I go to their web site and fill out the basic application, and then after I hit enter, the next page says "All applicants must complete a self-directed go live interview for consideration," and my first reaction is, what the heck is a self directed interview?
Apparently, it's a one way interview, where the questions are supplied, and then you just record yourself giving the answers, and then upload the little videos to their site. Seems like you do get unlimited takes, such that you don't have to submit the first reaction you have to a question. But it's something I've never done before, and frankly, haven't heard of before. I guess it makes a certain amount of sense for a small company, in that they don't have to have people taking the time to run these interviews. But in allowing people to submit their best take, maybe they give candidates a chance to 'cheat' (by looking up answers after seeing the questions, I mean)? Dunno. Guess I'll give it a whirl. But there isn't any place at home where my cheap laptop's awful camera app makes me look half decent, so I might have to wander out to a library to accomplish this task. And for as often as I've been to my local library, I can't for the life of me remember whether they have any enclosed booths that might work for a task like this, where I'll need to be talking a lot. Guess there's only one way to find out.
