October 9, 2019 INNER STRENGTH
There are many articles, videos and programs about gaining physical strength. There are even some about inner strength and how to better control our emotions. Whether we are trying to become more physically strong or mentally strong, we need to begin with our thinking. What we think about is who we become. If we want to become more like Jesus, we need to allow His Holy Spirit to guide our thoughts. When we allow the Holy Spirit to guide our thinking, we will gain inner strength and peace.
Ephesians 4:23 “Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes.” (NLT)
1. Write about any negative thoughts you have.
2. List the ways to improve your inner strength.
3. Know God wants to help your thinking.
4. Allow the Holy Spirit to renew your thoughts and attitude.
Dear Lord, we can’t think right without You. Please allow Your Holy Spirit to renew our thoughts and our attitudes. Please give us the inner strength we need that is pleasing to You and allows us to be more like Christ. We know Your word will help us have better thoughts and help us to be stronger. Please change our minds to be obedient to You and submissive to Your Holy Spirit. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
We are to pray for inner strength from the Holy Spirit and allow the Holy Spirit to guide our thoughts.
Ephesians 3:16 “I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit.” (NLT)
We are to get more into God’s word to help us think better thoughts about who we are and what God wants us to do.
Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.” (NLT)
Our minds reflect who we are. The more we draw closer to God, the more He will fill our minds with things of Him.
Proverbs 27:19 “As water reflects your face, so your mind shows what kind of person you are.” (NCV)
