I had a follow up visit with the foot nurse today. The first time I went, my nails were a real mess - nails ingrown and nail fungus. And so sensitive, it hurts to have anyone touch them. Added to that, I have very very sensitive skin on my legs so it is hard for her to work on them.

Luckily, or not, my nails hardly grew since the last visit. A couple showed a bit of growth, most nails did not. So she did what she had to do, and said because my nails are so slow growing, I do not have to go back until January. Not sure if it's good or bad that they are so slow growing. (when I was a child and into my 20's they grew so fast, as did my fingernails and my hair. Now I save a fortune on haircuts, lol

When I got home, I turned on the TV to watch a show and the TV went black. I tried turning it off and then on again, but to no effect. I phoned Sis and she suggested I unplug it. Boy was that an exercise! The buffet the TV sits on is so heavy I can't move it and my arms are not really long enough to reach comfortably, but I finally got it unplugged. Then trying to plug it in again, it was so painful. So after supper, BIL came over to look at it and said that the TV is shot. It is only about 5 or 6 years old. They sure don't make them like they used to. I've had an old "tube" TV that lasted almost 30 years. No comparison, but the flat model TV's are much lighter and easier to move, lol

I have a small 19 inch that was given to me when the last TV died, and after I bought my larger 40 inch, I kept this little guy, so BIL brought it out of the storage room and got it plugged in. It is also a flat screen but so much older and would not work with the current cables. We had to go through my tote box of spare cords and parts to find an RCA cable which finally got it working. (Good thing I have not yet gotten around to sorting and throwing out a lot of that stuff, lol)

My niece got married a couple of years ago, and has a TV that is just sitting there (her busband has a great big screen TV, and she really doesn't have room to keep hers. She said that I could have it so I won't have to buy a new one (at least not this year, lol)

I had checked on Airmiles site and I have barely a quarter of the number of miles needed to get one from there. So I looked on line at a couple of places and I cannot believe how expensive they are. So I am very grateful to my niece for her generosity. But if these new TV's only last a few years, I guess I had better start saving up now to be ready for the next time.
