Tuesday and just a short note today

Tuesday, October 08, 2019

A very windy day here, but the sun is shining. So it's a pretty day, but not an easy day to be working outside. This morning we did get the section of the wood fence bracing covered with tin, as the goat are eating them, but had to be really careful so we didn't get cut as the wind kept trying to blow them away. And I suppose we will have to mow this afternoon after hubby's nap is over. Not looking forward to the grass blowing in my face, so the Lawn Ranger will have to wear her goggles.

The kids, Shorty and Kinney, were good kids last night as they didn't upset any plants. So no extra cleaning and vacuuming. I think putting the vacuum in front of the shelve they are on helped, as they hate that thing, and run for the hills every time I turn it now, so that thing may be a permanent fixture there. Hey, you got to do what you can.

Hubby slept better last night with his cold and congestion, so I did also sleep better, but a Melantona (spelling) didn't hurt. Now he really just coughs and coughs, and blows and blows. It is just a reminder that I need to get over to the pharmacy to get my flu shot, as he got his went we went up to the VA last month, and that is the first time that he got his before I did. I usually get my shot in Sept. as that is my birthday month and a good reminder to get it, but I missed it, so that is a Missions for this week. But not today, to busy.

Well, not much else going on here, so take care and have a GET day. Linda

Go get that flu shot, #1 MISSION. My MISSION is to make an appointment to get a pneumonia shot; we had flu shots at work yesterday, so I've done that. Did I ever mention that a week or two before I got sick last year, I had asked my doctor about getting one since I'd be 65 in April. No, she said, you can wait till you're 65. emoticon

Life on the farm sounds like there is always something to do. How in the world do you do it all? You are one strong woman! I couldn't do all that! emoticon

Ever tried zinc lozenges? Or taking extra zinc and vitamin C when you have a cold? It really does help get you over it quicker. We have them on hand all the time just in case. We both can't get the flu shot, had reactions to it. emoticon

Have a good rest of the week! emoticon

Wind came up late yesterday afternoon and about 9 p.m. it was gale force winds I swear. By this morning we had 2 inches of snow and this evening there is at least 4 inches of that lovely white stuff. I really should pack up my bags and move to east central Canada because the weather there is so much nicer than ours out here in the west. Glad to hear both you and DH had a better sleep last night. I find the best way to stop my runny nose is to take Vitamin C. I should like a darn pharmacist but really I'm only trying to help and make your and DH's lives more comfy.

I know all about shelter fences being blown down by the wind. We don't have goats chewing ours but those darn thoroughbreds like to chew and the stud tears the boards right off the fence if he can get his teeth in just the right place.

I hope for a flu shot tomorrow. Did not have a good shirt on today when I was there.

It was a sunny, cool day here, lots of wind coming in off the lake. That means waves were at least 1 to 2 meters high, (3 to 5 ft.) It is a great lake after all. Did workhouse and had a nice windy-walk along the docks.
