Relaxation and recharging

For the first time in a long time my husband and I went away for a couple of days, it was heaven. We decided to drive up to Whistler, just a couple of hours from where we live and take in the fall colours before the snow starts flying up there. We couldn't have asked for better fall weather and such beauty!

Lots of planning went into meals before we left. We wanted to play tourist along the way and knew it wouldn't be a straight drive to the hotel so we packed healthy snacks and lunch to eat along the way. For the hotel we chose one right in the village so we could walk to everything and picked a suite with a full kitchen so we could bring fruits and veggies to keep on hand. We also knew we would be eating out and it was a great chance to work on balance and listening to our bodies. We went out for a wonderful dinner, both of us ate what we wanted and happily left food on our plates. I have never seen my husband do this before, I was pretty proud of him. Walking to the coffee house that was recommended to us was a 20 minute walk each way through the trails, it was a great way to start the morning. We then took our coffee and walked along the stream, the bridge across the stream was still lit up when we'd head out, it really created a beautiful glow.

The fall colours were hard to resist and we spent most of the days walking and exploring. There was so much we wanted to do, we'll definitely head back to explore some more.

Even at night there was so much to see, very little time was spent indoors.

It was a romantic weekend with a wonderful husband. No talk of kids, grandkids, business or renovations. We laughed, we explored and we had a great, healthy weekend away.
