So here I am 14 days into making changes - and am feeling so much better. Just the difference I have re my mindset - and the scale is moving down so that it great also
Have had time to look once again at reading labels, and I am always amazed at all of the 'stuff' in processed food. Best food is what is found in the natural state - but there are things like butter, rolled oats to name just 2 that eaten in proper portions is ok for the 'belly'.
Tonight we went out and celebrated a friends birthday - there were about 30 of us and she was really surprised. Her daughter and her daughter in law had a nice spread of food - and one table was full of fresh vegetables - just what I wanted. But we did have one incident - they had the makings for making smoores - hubby went and got 2 marshmallows and gave one to my daughter (she is 30 and has Down Syndrome). She ate it no problem - he then gave her a 2nd one - she choked on it causing quite a scene. Two ladies one of whom we knew are nurses so they rushed to her and helped - I held her hand telling her to spit it out, one of the nurses tried to raise her arms and the other talked her threw it telling her she was ok and just needed to spit it out - she opened her mouth and we could see the marshmallow - and out it came. She was so scared and started to cry. But she calmed down quickly and kept looking at me saying 'I ok mom I ok mom' and all I could do was to hold back the tears. Thankfully everyone had finished eating. At any rate other than that slight set back the evening went well.
So as today is Saturday I have taken the time to meal plan for the next 7 days, taking account our Canadian Thanksgiving this coming weekend. All groceries have been bought but the turkey which we will pick up on Friday as it is a fresh one. So I am all ready for the week with respect to food - now that I spend time today thinking about it for some time, all I have to do this coming week is cook it and enjoy eating it.
For exercise I am running a bit behind what I want to accomplish. I am not quite getting in the steps wanted but after remembering to put on the pedometer I did record 551 (walked more but did not have it on so can't give a number) So tomorrow will work on getting in at least 1,500 giving me a total of 2,051 (2,000 is the number I am looking for which is 1 mile walked). So though we will be out in the morning at Church and then in the evening for 2 1/2 hours I should be able to get it in - aiming for it anyway.
So what I am grateful for today are
(1) grateful for a warm house on a cold night
(2) grateful for fresh vegetables
(3) grateful for appropriate clothing to wear now that the season is changing
My streaks to date are
