Life is great - a new season is upon us = leaves are changing color and falling, the air is turning cold, some snow is seen in the higher up regions of the mountains, animals of the wild are preparing / ready for the winter = though I am not a big lover of the colder months of the year I do enjoy looking at how every thing changes with each season.
Today, being Day 11 the topic of the program was on building a better grocery cart. Lots of great information, most of which I have known for some time. But is always a good reminder.
One thing I am learning this time around is how some food is affecting me - for instance I am finding that hamburger is doing a number on me. So with learning this I am seeing now that I am going to have to make some changes to some of my meals as the uncomfortable feeling in the stomach is not nice - and if I hadn't have started to really pay attention to how I felt after meals I might not have really made the connection.
Something that I was surprised at - a group that I belong to on Facebook re weight loss - the coach did a live video today and she said she was going to honor different members each month on accomplishments not necessarily re weight loss. This month she is presenting me with a beautiful gift basket that includes a nice coffee mug, some herb tea, a new Tupperware container and a pad to track my meals for the week. She said so many nice things as to why she had picked me for the month - it brought me to tears. So she will be coming for a visit in the next couple of days - by the way she is also a personal trainer and I have been able to pick her brain on tips for me and exercise all aimed at helping with my mobility issues. I must say I truly am feeling blessed. One thing she had said was that she was impressed that I was taking my health serious and not just thinking 'food issues' but taking the focus off of food and onto what I can do each day that will improve my health - could be going for a walk, could be not having a favorite food that day, could be increasing my water, could be just journalizing my thoughts each day. She went on to say how pleased she was that I have made the transition to buying groceries once a week, prepping what I could for the week and then just enjoying each day as it comes, finding something good about each day.
So I will continue on with this program making small changes each day - and my body will soon match up with how I am feeling.
