This was a challenging day. Went to a meeting and after the meeting I had some stops to make in the area. I was walking to get some exercise in. A friend from the meeting wanted to go for lunch and I told him that I had a few stops hoping that he would decide we should do it another day.
So having lunch is an unexpected challenge. The tool that came easiest was not to leave food on the plate. Also choose a lower calorie option for the protein, good carb and vegetables. Fill up 1/2 of plate with veg. I get a c grade. I chose fish fingers (friend and battered). There were 5 I had 3. There was tartar sauce and I dip the fingers in it. There was some left. Chose rice but it was 1/2 cup. It’s normal here to get like 2 cups of rice on your plate. Then there were steamed vegetables - maybe about 1/2 cup (definitely not 1/2 of the plate). I had a mojito and 2 - 4oz glasses of water.
I had some mandarin oranges later in the evening. I did exercise again after work - so there was a lot of conflict there but I decided I needed to keep the streak going. I had thoughts of a piece of cake a Coca Cola but there was nothing at home but mandarin oranges.
I came in within calorie range. My fiber was below and sodium above.
The struggle is real.
