Lack of motivation

Monday, September 30, 2019

Back in that mode where I don't really feel like writing these entries, but here I am anyway, because I have A Streak to maintain. You might have noticed the last couple being rather brief in nature. Friday night's was such because I remembered partway through a concert that I hadn't done this daily task, so I got it out of the way before I forgot to do it after the show. Turns out I was right to do so, as I failed to do the daily Duolingo lessons before the clock struck midnight and turned that streak into a pumpkin.

Spent a few hours playing pickleball today and being really annoyed at how unwell I was playing. I mean, I wasn't doing badly, per se, but I just seem to lack the touch that I'd developed over the summer, and had going pretty decently right up until I went south for a week (the Arkansas trip). Seems like those ten days away just killed that momentum and I haven't quite recaptured it. Alas.

The weight, as expected was up after that trip, but not badly so. Had it near par (in this case, par being 213 pounds) but then the quick jaunt to Cleveland bounced it up a tad again. The two sessions of pickleball today ought to help in that neverending endeavor. Trying to hit 213, in the short term, and then work on regaining the 210 I had achieved on July 1 thereafter. Thinking I'm going to try to hit a series of micro goals, rather than setting a overall number to chase, and see if that is any help in driving the project forward. Might as well see if that approach provides any motivation for me.

Now, having proven myself entirely wrong about not having much to say today, I shall bid you a good night!
