I didn't win, but I didn't lose either

Saturday, September 28, 2019

Almost every week for the last 1-2 months, an ex-boss's husband has invited me to participate in a 5-day "work week Hustle" challenge. Every week its usually the same few people at the top of the list at the end of the challenge. This week, I wanted to shake things up so I invited my youngest daughter to join in with us.

If you have ever been to a school event where kids are playing sports or in any competition, and heard parents get very loud cheering their kid onto victory. It can be annoying at times. Well this week, I turned into that obnoxious parent. Luckily I wasn't sitting in crowded bleachers. I was alone cheering in my room until last night...towards the end of our race, I was at work when I checked to see how everyone was doing. I instantly cheered out LOUD, forgetting that I was at work and a bunch of customers were in the store. I quickly explained what I was cheering about, and some laughed and said congrats to my daughter.

Sabrina had forgotten to wear her Fitbit half of the first day, but she still ended up winning the challenge for the week. I have never won this challenge but I did my best stepping during this race. So nice to give my feet a break this morning :)

I think I like the short weekend challenges better than the workweek ones. My feet hurt by the time I wake up on the 5th day and I am mentally done. Besides I have other stuff that I need to do...stuff that doesn't include counting steps.

Winning and losing isn't everything. Sometimes the journey is just as important as the outcome.
