Making friends with allergens

So when I went to the library late in the afternoon, after Tottenham Hotspur put in an embarrassing display in losing their Carabao Cup match against Colchester United, a team three leagues lower than Spurs, 70+ places lower in the English football pyramid, I was in a bit of a foul mood. And there, outside the library, an older woman was sitting holding the leashes for three puppies. And since I'm on a group text with a few people who are immense dog lovers, I decided to ask if I could pet the doggos and maybe take a picture to send to my friends. She agreed, and I spent a couple of minutes giving scritches, and getting my hands licked by Amber, Boomer, and the third pup whose name I didn't catch. Made for a better mood when I went inside the library, anyway.
But....I'm allergic to dogs. I loves them, but they makes me sneeze. And so after I got home, I spent an uncomfortable half hour wheezing and coughing and feeling itchy until the Claritin kicked in. I'm mostly good now, another couple of hours on. It's not usually quite this bad, but maybe the longhaired nature of these little pooches contributed to the reaction? I don't know.
NO real harm done, I might have gone and done something this evening, but there was laundry that needed doing, all the stuff I took to Arkansas, so instead I stayed home and am doing the first load of that. Tomorrow, I'll play pickleball in the morning, and go play trivia for the first time in months in the evening. The plan for Thursday is still going to the last Tigers home game of the season, to see out the end of this brutal season. And Friday, travelling to see the Amorphis/Anneke/Delain concert in Cleveland. Going down there with a friend who prefers to drive, so I'm using hotel points to grab a room. Seems like a decent tradeoff, 5+ hours of driving for a 'free' hotel room.
