Continuing with more pictures from the Museum of Pop Culture...

Guitar Sculpture

One of Elton John's Costumes/Outfits

Since Kurt Cobain along with Krist Novoselic and Aaron Burckhard started Nirvana are from Aberdeen, WA they had a lot of info about Kurt and the band. Things like letters, guitars, newspaper articles and so on.

I didn't get pictures but they also had big sections for Jimi Hendrix since he was from Seattle and then also Prince since he had a big influence on other artists and fans.

You could easily spend at least a couple of hours in the museum! At the end there is a little café. Culture Kitchen by Wolfgang Puck is an urban café & bar located within Museum of Pop Culture (MoPOP). I stopped and got a little something to eat since it was around noon on Saturday when I finished the museum. The food wasn't but but I wasn't overly impressed by it. Shortly after I finished and started to head back to the hotel, Dave friend and co-owner of our game business called to say that he was out of bed if I wanted to meet him back at the hotel. Of course, as I was trying to figure out how to get back to the hotel the battery on my phone died. I had to ask several people how to get back to the hotel.

Once I got back to the hotel and met up with Dave, we went down by the open market. I hadn't been there yet but Dave and Randy went down there Thursday evening. They sell all kinds of things...fresh fish, fresh flowers and many other things. Across the street and down a ways is the original Starbucks. We never went in there though because there was always a huge line to get in there. There is literally a Starbucks on every block around the convention and every other block everywhere else. lol

Dave wanted to get something to eat so we stopped at a little place across from the market that sells salmon burgers. We walked around a bit more just kind of perusing the local shops before heading back to the hotel. We weren't back for long when Randy and Troels came back. Shortly after that we called for an Uber or Lyft (can't remember) to take all of us to the private party we were invited to with many makers of games and some that go back to the early days of making Point and Click Adventure games from the 80's.

Some pics from the party...

Left to right: Al Lowe (maker of Leisure Suit Larry from the 80's), Franciso Gonzalez (Grundislav Games), and Troels - Not sure who's head that is in front though.

Troels and Dan Avidan (Danny Sexbang from the comedic band Ninja Sex Party as well as the co-host of the Let's Play webseries Game Grumps.

These two put on a fun skit about Sierra games

On Sunday morning while Dave and Troels were still sleeping, Randy and I headed over to the Chihuly Garden and Glass museum. I wish there was a way for all of you to see these photos better because they museum was neat! Everything is sculpted glass!!

Glass Octopuses climbing glass seaweed

Glass Crab climbing some glass underwater plant

Glass turtles on some sort of glass underwater plant

A glass ceiling in part of the museum

This is supposed to be a bunch of plants and other things all found in the ocean and made from glass.

The following are all glass sculptures in the outdoor gardens at the museum

When we got back Troels was awake but Dave was still asleep. Randy, Troels and I wandered around Seattle while we waited for Dave to get up. We ended up down by the open market again when another tourist asked us if we knew where the gum wall was. Of course we didn't but then we were intrigued as to what this "gum wall" really was. So, we followed the tourist until he found someone who told him where it was. I was not prepared for what I saw!!

This was just around the corner from the market in an alley. The city just scraped off those walls 9 months ago! The pavers on the ground were black from all of the gum over the years! Can you believe it's a popular place to get wedding photos taken?! emoticon emoticon emoticon

As we wandered back to the hotel we were walking by a little cafe that sold champagne floats. We were curious and decided to try one. Well, Troels got one and then Randy and I shared one. It wasn't bad but it's not something I would get again.

Well, it's getting late and again this blog is getting a bit long. I will have to make a part 3. :)

To be continued.....
