Do you use measurements?

Do you use forms of measurements during your weight loss journey?

One form is measuring your food.

When I was looking back at my past journey and how successful I was, one thing I did consistently was measured my food. I used my measuring cups, teaspoons, etc.... all the time for everything I ate. It worked because I dropped a ton of weight knowing exactly what and how much I was eating.

That has fallen by the way side but I am getting it back again. Today I am starting off fresh with measuring! I measured everything I am eating today and already have it logged in. It feels good to get back to the roots that helped me out so much. Eye balling it just isn't helping me anymore.

The other form of measurement.....

I weigh myself everyday. I do this to help hold myself accountable. But seeing that number can also bring you down. Especially if you are trying hard and not going anywhere. Another thing I was doing in the past was completing body measurements. I was feeling my best in 2015 and 2016, I made sure to not just look at the scale but also measure myself monthly. The inches were dropping off me like crazy and even though the scale wasn't moving, I was still seeing progress and that helped me stay motivated. Measurements can be a huge motivational tool.

Fall starts on Monday, September 23 and I am going to measure myself and use those numbers as my starting point.

I have mixed feelings about starting over but it does feel refreshing! How about you.... do you measure?

I do measure everything and weigh everything too. I love my digital scale! emoticon
And log everything into MFP and keep a checklist in my journal!
