Fear

Monday, September 16, 2019

I am afraid to weigh in. I know I’m only supposed to do it once a week. That won’t be until Thursday. So I have a some time to get prepared. I just don’t want to see that I have not lost anything. I did weigh over the weekend and I’d dropped a couple of pounds, which made me happy. But...I feel sluggish and, well, heavy. I’m doing my best to move and follow the tips and recommendations here. I am so appreciative of the kind support from fellow members. Still, my fear is holding me back. Fear of the number on the scale, of another relapse, of more pain when exercising, of the whole mess. Like it’s questionable whether it will prove to be worth it all, even though I know it will be. Heck, I’ve done it more than once. Maybe that’s why I’m so afraid. I’ve obviously failed more than once, too.

You only fail if you stop trying ever. And the hardest thing to exercise is patience!

My dear, we can be our own worst saboteurs. Remember . . . . the # on the scale is just that. It doesn't tell the whole tale. You are MORE than just a #.

Have you taken your measurements? Track them They are a good indication of progress or where you need to tweak things.

How about your energy level? Is it improving. That's definitely a progress indicator.

Just some examples. So . . . have faith in yourself and remember, too, weight loss is not a straight line event. There are many ups and down along the way.

Don't let the schools determine your view of success. If you are feeling better and your clothes are fitting better, that should be more than enough progress to satisfy.

    Blessings on your journey.

I have the same fear,I didn't weigh for almost a yr,told myself I was fine, ended up being up 50 lbs,use it as a tool not a judgement. It's a peace of metal with a battery,we are divine, beautiful, souls.
