22 Weeks and Counting!

Every week I meet with my nutrition coach, and we discuss my meal plan and my exercise plan. I set small goals each week, and she challenges me to go above and beyond those goals.

I can't believe how much I have changed in the past 22 weeks. I take a picture of myself each week and line them up for motivation. This keeps me focused and pushes me to continue moving forward. I have had ups and downs throughout my journey, but they are so worth the results.

When I started, I was afraid to tell my family and friends because so many times before I would give up and feel defeated. I knew this time would be different but did not want to see the looks of "yep we have heard this before" or "here she goes again with another gimmick." Don't get me wrong; my family is my largest supporters; I did not want to let them down and see the disappointment on their faces.

This weekend marked my 22nd week on the plan I chose, and both of my boys came over to celebrate my success thus far. The look on my boy's faces was not of disappointment but pride and encouragement. My youngest stated this was the first time in his 25 years of life he had ever seen me under 200 pounds. The feeling of pride that came over me is indescribable. I was overwhelmed with joy. It was the best feeling in the world.

For those of you who are struggling or those of you who are like me and have tried everything under the sun trying to lose weight, I have one thing to say. The first step to your weight loss is knowing you can and will succeed. The second step is to start the minute you decide to change. Don't wait until Sunday or whatever day you decided on. Get up and start moving, make small changes to your diet, and use the Sparkpeople tools and support. They do help, and you will accomplish your dreams.
