Goodbye to the Sandhill Cranes - 9-15-19

Just like the hummingbirds, the sandhill cranes are heading out of the area:

Anna Boyer caught the pair above before they took flight. I'm always amazed how the animals instinctively know when to prepare for winter, when to head south/north.... I'm still enjoying the warm days and cool nights, but the sandhill cranes know what's coming:

And Colleen Whiteman found a pair heading out of the valley ahead of the long winter they know is on the way!
