Thursday, and just floating thru the day.

Thursday, September 12, 2019

Thursday, again and my lest favorite day, I never have like Thursday's. No real reason, kind of like not liking liver, it just is what it is. And by the way I really do like Liver, and Larry also.

I wrote this on Sabbleness blog, and I want to make the same promise to all of you:

I promise that as soon as I get some things worked out I am doing the daily MIssions, again. Right now have to get in the right fame of mind. Seems like since hubby retired he has the thinking that his jobs are more important than mine, and he constantly interrupts me and I have let a few things go, as I don't want to have to stop in the middle, and then I never get back at them, so have lots of half finished projects, that I need to get at. I may have to cut back on computer time, bummers, but have to do what I have to do, and get some things settled with hubby. I love him to pieces but he is going to have to except that I also have things that need done, and maybe a little help now and then wouldn't hurt. lol

I think it is a man thing as I have heard other voice the same thing when they retire, and most like Larry never have had a hobby, especially farmers, they don't play golf, they don't go fishing, there whole life was making a living, which Larry was good at. Now he putts, now is on a mission to get rid of things. Like this morning, now that we took some re-cycling stuff over to the Recycling Center, he is on a mission, I had a small stack of ice cream pails, and maybe 10 cat and dog food cans, and one glass jar, and he insisted on going to the center to get rid of them, so I gathered them up, and I had him drop me off at the grocery store, while he went to the center. When really all I wanted to do was stay home and clean, but at least the groceries are in the cupboard for the next couple of weeks, but the house didn't get cleaned. Now I really am not angry at hubby, he is just trying to adjust to his new life also, and I remember what it was like when I didn't work out of the home anymore. Why, I had all the house work, laundry, baking, cooking, etc, done by 10 AM, and then wondered what I was going to do with the rest of the hours before bed time and then start over the next day. It is a big adjustment and I will just have to go with the flow and realize that maybe my house today wont be picture prefect, and have a happy content hubby. lol He is a peach and I love him dearly, just have to iron out some bumps, and not do so much Hubby bashing.

Another blah day here, as it rained again this morning, and looks like it could down pour any minute. Did reach though the garden fence this morning and picked an Acorn Squash off the almost died vine. And where it came from I have no idea, as I bought one Butternut Squash plant, and it is in a totally different area of the garden, so I have no idea where I accumulated this one, but there is several Squash on the vine, so thought I would see if it is ready to eat for supper one of these nights. The last Acorn I had was a couple years ago from my brothers patch, can those seeds lay dormant that long? Anyway, can't wait to try them.

Well, you all have a GET day, and if you have a partner give him/her a big hug, and remember why they are in your life. Huggs, Linda.

I didn't plant any winter squash this year, because the vines take over everything. When I can buy them for $.49 a pound, it just doesn't make a lot of sense, but I'm always pleased to discover I have a volunteer growing in the strangest of places. Take care Linda!

I love how you take such good care of your Larry and you are mindful of his change of routine. It is hard for men to separate themselves from their work. When we sold our big construction business that we had owned for so many many years both Don and I felt like we had completely lost our identities! So what did we do...of course...we started another business. It's really, really tough doing it all on my own...but it is worth it every day because it is important to have something remain from the hard work that my dear hubby and I worked so hard to create and put together.

Sit down and have a talk with Larry. You shouldn't have to drop everything for him all the time. There should be a balance. I hope that you can figure something out with him. I think that he could probably handle some of these tasks by himself.

Funny that you got an acorn squash plant just growing - sounds good for dinner. I think I'll have to buy some next trip to the store.

I'm sure you'll figure a way around this Linda... like Opera loved to say, "we teach people how to treat us."
Rained all night and with that a lovely cool down too. emoticon
