Remembering this day 9/11

Wednesday, September 11, 2019

I was home watching television. My husband and our friend, Chuck were adding an outlet in the kitchen and doing minor repairs I watched in horror as the planes flew in to the twin towers. I ran to the door and yelled for the guys to come in. I wish I could find my journals from then. Hopefully they're all safe. I remembered my friends and former neighbors who were airline pilots and stewardesses. I prayed for them and everyone involved. I went to school and got my son. I remember asking him if they had said anything at school and explaining what we knew. Fast forward to today. My friend and former classmate from high school shared her blog from 9/11. She is a search and rescue person with trained dogs. They were at Ground Zero. I read what it was like to go floor by floor in the Twin Towers and surrounding buildings. So many brave people. For awhile we were all united as one people. Let us remember that we are all one people. We can't not teach our history no matter how offended some people get. It's our past. We need to learn from our mistakes and not travel down some roads ever again. Sending much love to our country and the world today. Love and peace to all

Thank you for sharing. I spent the summer with my sister in Boston and flew home a few days before 9/11. My dad called and told us to turn the T.V. on and we watched all day in horror.

I was at school and the class was getting ready to go to lunch. The news spread through the school and all teaching stopped as we watched the horrible nightmare that was taking place. Never forget. emoticon

I was working a temp job and one of the girls husband worked in the county police dept. so he called her and we all watched as things unfolded on the internet. It was so eerie to drive home and nary a plane in sight and for several more days. We all need to take a step back and remember how we all came together, it didn't matter your political beliefs, we were ONE NATION UNITED. How did it all go so wrong since then.

Hugs to everyone who remembers and let us all carry that mission forward-who knows the "little guy" might be the answer to this country's ills.
