Link to the Iron Maiden song by that name:
First time in a week that I've felt good out on a pickleball court, being able to run after stuff, without worrying about the leg/groin. Didn't play that many games, as I went out to watch a showdown between a couple of guys who have a youtube channel, and do a show revolving around pickleball and craft beers and tech, et cetera. They have a paddle signed by one of the best pickleball players in the world, a guy named Kyle Yates, and a mock wrestling style championship belt that they play for, as this was the 5th showdown in the series. Sadly for the....well...let me edit this part where I spilled the beans about the result, because I wasn't thinking about how they'd want to keep it under wraps until they released the video themselves....oops! I really hope the three or so people who might have peeked in here before I edited aren't pickleball players!
Ended up playing a few games afterwards against some of the other people who showed up to watch. Like I said, the leg feels good, and I hope it stays that way. I agreed to play in a little tournament on Saturday, after some cajoling by the folks running it. I'll be playing with someone I haven't played with before, and looking at the roster of teams in the event, there are some really good players in my bracket, so I'm going in with zero expectations of success. Setting the bar low, to increase the chances of getting over it! That said, I hope I don't let this other guy down, since he's being saddled with a random partner at the last minute.
