What was a healthy lifestyle for me in my 50s has changed.
With the knowledge that my blood pressure is not where it used to be, I have to find a new place called "healthy". Perhaps hiking mountains is not advisable before I get my numbers back where they should be.
Here are the highs and the lows:
My systolic number in the early morning has been at 183, 178, 177, 173, 164, 142 and 140.
My diastolic in the morning has been at 103, 100, 99, 90, 88, 87, and 86.
My evening numbers have been much better. 141/68 and 129/69.
I am concerned about the morning numbers because I have never before taken those numbers. I have taken my BP only in the evening.
I am also concerned with my glucose numbers in the morning. I have had glucose reading at 188, 186 down to 143. My afternoon readings have been in the 130s to 110s. My highest reading was at 195 after eating a piece of grilled cheese sandwich on whole wheat and 188 after a piece of blueberry pie.
I am looking for a chance in my medications as well as my lifestyle. I will let you know what my doctor says.
It may be determined that I am in Hypertension Stage 2 high blood pressure indicates an even more serious condition. If your blood pressure reading shows a top number of 140 or more or a bottom number of 90 or more, it’s considered stage 2 hypertension.
It might be time for me to change my diet to be plant-based. I eat lots of veggies and have made many lifestyle changes. I will do what I have to do to stay healthy.
