9/8/19 - Bedtime

Sunday, September 08, 2019

At 7:30 this morning, I would have preferred to roll over and go back to sleep. Instead I got up, had breakfast, and headed to the gym. It would be so easy to blow off my class and start making that a habit. I really like sleeping in, but I've got to keep moving. Inertia is a very powerful force.

I just found out my neighbor is going to have a hysterectomy on Tuesday, and she'll be in the hospital for a couple of days. I offered help, but I know she won't ask for anything. I have been very lucky and, so far, have not had a major operation. I don't want to send flowers, because I would rather do something that will make her life easier. Suggestions?

I cut the lawn today. When I got to the backyard, all the birds lined up on the power wires waiting for me to finish. I mowed as quickly as possible so the sparrows could get back to their dinner.

Sweet dreams everyone!!!

You are so good to your birds! I’m sure your neighbor would like a short visit from you. Perhaps with coffee and a muffin.

I agree with all the suggestions. A nice bowl of homemade soup, or something around that line. Maybe a nice short visit when you deliver it.

Take a prepared meal over, one that can be reheated if necessary.

Suggestions: take her list and go get groceries, pharmacy items, get her mail, take a prepared meal, go to the library and pick up a book, take a pot of tea/coffee and share it together.
Pets? walk the dog, clean the litter box.

Don't say, "let me know if there's anything I can do." like the shoe ads...just do it.

Anytime I was recovering from major surgery, it was just nice to have someone to talk with.
