Hello Spark Friends! I haven't posted lately but that doesn't mean I haven't been busy. I've just been using the Spark People app on my phone and hadn't logged onto my desktop to make a blog post. Hopefully they will make that process easier on mobile sometime.
I'm getting ready to go for my 10th run on my couch to 5k running program. A few years ago when I was very motivated and didn't want to slow down I combined two different versions into a 5 days per week program and that is what I've been using, although I have been averaging about 3 runs per week, as I've been dealing with some foot pain that is sometimes worse after a run and I need a recovery day for that. It just shows that sometimes we need to modify things for where we are at and that is okay; our goals are still more attainable than we think. Consistency is always the key.
If you've always thought running was something that was "too hard" or out of your reach, you most likely underestimate yourself, and I encourage you to join me in the Couch to 5k and Healthy Eating Spark Team. I have the breakdown of the first two weeks posted already and plan to post week 3 sometime this weekend. I also uploaded an image of the chart of my plan for all the weeks in the team to print and highlight progress.
Thanks for stopping by my page and I hope to hear more about how you're achieving your goals!
Way to go on setting those running goals. I was a runner for over 20 years, but had to hang up my running shoes because of hip and back pain. I struggled for a while finding something that I enjoyed just as much as running. I started hiking and love it!
