dr google can be dangerous

Third day of groin pain, but it's getting better. I did get out and about today, even if that entailed grabbing an ice coffee and sitting and reading on a park bench, as opposed to wandering in said park. Last night, about when I was scribbling that previous blog (about the song Dixie), it was still kinda debilitating, where moving around in bed was still hurting, so I started googling, to see if there was anything "obvious" going on, that I ought to know about, or do something about. Seems like the specific spot that was hurting is often involved in sports hernias. And since I have hernias, or have had in the past, since I'm not clear on whether they ever officially go away, and I was googling after dark (might even have been after midnight at that point), I was kind of willing to believe that I might have done that sort of thing to myself.

Except...the couple of sites I was looking at also suggested that that spot would be tender to the touch in the case of a sports hernia, and that is certainly not the case, it doesn't hurt at all to touch. And a couple of other factors, that made it less and less likely that it was, indeed, a sports hernia. The fact that it's better today, and I was able to go out and wander a bit, without worrying too much about my leg/groin, makes me think less dramatic thoughts. Not going to play pickleball for another couple of days yet (that attempt Tuesday was probably a very bad idea), but I'm feeling like I could do so by the weekend.

And then to see if this thing, whatever it is, recurs.

I know googling your symptoms can result in unnecessary worry. I also google my aches, pains, etc. Sometimes I am right, & sometimes I am wrong. There are times I made myself really worry thinking I had something.
Also consider, your symptoms might not fit the description but might be it anyway. I would suggest rest like you are doing. If the pain gets worse, go to the doctor.

Seriously, if u don’t want to go get it checked out, at least rest it as much as u can for a few more days.
    You’re welcome.
