I live on the island of New Providence the capital of which is Nassau. Abaco and Grand Bahama are much larger islands and sort of protect New Providence by surrounding it to the northeast. We know Abaco is a mess. Dorian is moving very slowly over Grand Bahama. The weather in New Providence is very rainy at the moment. It's more rainy than it was yesterday. There will be flooding because we are very flat and overcrowded, poor drainage - it's always this way when it rains. So government offices are closed in the northwest Bahamas. I'm part of that group. Islands in the south and central Bahamas (Exuma, Long Island, Ragged Island, Mayaguana, Inagua, Cat Island, Crooked Island, San Salvador Crooked Island, Acklins) will be unaffected. But 85% of the 350k population live in New Providence (70%), Grand Bahama (20%) and Abaco (10%).
