Hiking on Rabbit Ears - 9-1-19

A long weekend is a great time to go hiking up on Rabbit Ears Pass!
The pass is named after the basalt rock formations leftover from a volcano, which look like rabbit ears (you can see them above - they looked MORE like rabbit ears before the one on the right crumbled in the last few years and left the ear "notched"!)
Shannon Lukens was up on the pass and took some beautiful photos of the wildflowers:
In the winter there's a lot of cross country skiing and snowmobiling up on the pass, but right now you can find lots of locals up there camping, fishing, and hiking, squeezing as much summer out of the area as we can!
