Time To Myself

Our surprise birthday party went off without a hitch and we did manage to keep it a surprise. Isaac had no idea until he went to the door to get Nate. He had a gift with him and that's all it took. Lots of laughter throughout the night and it was nice having Maegann's "guy" with us too as we are still trying to get to know him better as their friendship does appear to be headed to a more serious level once she turns 18.
Today I was blessed with time to myself and it was much needed. I only had to run one errand to Costco for Tim and then I was able to get paid work completed along with a couple loads of laundry. Tonight Isaac had basketball practice and Maegann took him and I picked him up about 9. He's doing better with it so far and was happy he made a true dunk tonight.
Maegann is doing much better with school, but once in awhile some of the petty girl stuff rears its head. Proud of her as she is finally not just reacting to it all so emotionally. I think she is turning a corner. She still seems to require a guy in her life so I am just praying that God provides the right one. Right now that guy is Tayler and overall he is good for her at this time. Praying. Sadly, her heart is still a bit hardened to her faith due to her past, but I know God is faithful and will be right there when she turns back one day. It's hard for this mom so I am working at handing this right over to Him as there's nothing more I can do except keep moving forward one step at a time.
Tomorrow I am home and will keep working on the to-do list once I have the kitchen cleaned up and paid work emails addressed. The next two items are to clean the fireplace and get the homeschool books and items off the shelves in the living room. Bittersweet. Then I can start going through the other book boxes and put some things in place we will actually use now.
