8/24/19 - Bedtime

Sunday, August 25, 2019

Scott told me he spotted two skunks trying to climb the light pole trying to get at the bird feeder. They were intent on knocking seed to the ground. I just replaced the bird feeder because some of the plastic perches had broken off. I thought that was strange, but now I know how it happened. He also told me that Cooper, his Great Dane, had been sprayed by a skunk he cornered. Since the yard is completely surrounded by a fence, Scott doesn't know how the critter managed to get in. You were all right. I shouldn't be leaving peanuts under the light pole for the skunks. I only did it once, and that is the last time that will happen.

Although I was weeding, it was a great day to be outside.

I was putting clean clothes away and unearthed the T-shirt I thought had been stolen by the T-shirt fairy. It was in the stack of long-sleeved shirts. I'll be wearing it to the gym on Monday.

Sweet dreams everyone!!!

Leslie

Wow, skunks can be a problem even in the city. Just Don't Feed them, as you found out, and they can get through the smallest of holes. And finding that t-shirt, how great is that.

Oh we get those black and white striped kitties here too; they dig under any fence, live under sheds and porches and they love to dig up the lawn for grubs. emoticon emoticon

All my dogs have been sprayed by a skunk at least once in their lives. It is not fun and the smell ,is not that easily gotten rid of.......unfortunately. Yet they are such cute critters......ah well.......best not to feed them.....

Sometimes I'd swear my laundry is in some kind of migratory pattern - ESPECIALLY the socks!

An upside down large funnel like auto mechanics use will keep skunks off the 🐦 feeder but doesn't work on squirrels. 🐿

Skunks in the city?!! We don't have chickens so we haven't had a problem...so far.

Mowed all day. Tomorrow is the weed wacker and spraying weed killer on the rest of the drive. DH filled the yard cart with two large loads of weeds he pulled. The yard has really gotten out of hand with all the rain and minimal chances to work outside.

You have a T-shirt fairy at your house...here it's underwear and socks. Still haven't figured that one out.

    Have a wonderful Sunday. emoticon
