Probably shortchanging fitness minutes

By believing what my phone's step counter says, and using its number for how many minutes of activity I've accomplished on any given day, I'm probably undercounting how many fitness minutes I'm doing each day. Put it this way, if I go out and play pickleball for two hours, I'm usually credited for about 60-75 minutes of activity. Now granted, I'm not out there running every single moment of that time. There are short breaks between games. If there are uneven numbers, I get to sit out a game here and there until my turn comes back up. And there are points during games where you don't even take a step, as one team or another dumps a ball into the net or seems it wide. But it does feel like people who go out to play tennis say they played two hours of tennis when they go to the tennis court for two hours, and I'm not doing the same thing here when I'm at the pickleball court for two hours.
Just musing out loud. I have lately been adding a few minutes to the phone app time when I know I wasn't taking breaks of any unreasonable length. But it feels odd to do so. Not sure how to capture game time more accurately, though, not without constantly hitting start and stop on a stopwatch at the beginning and end of each contest.
