Two weeks ago Hubby started having light flashes in one of his eyes. This happened the day we were leaving to go to my Sisters. He had an appointment today with an eye specialist. He has a full blown cataract on that eye He has been saying that he can see better without his glasses. Well, he had an eye exam 3 months ago and new glasses. They were at one of the eye stores. They did not mention the cataract. I told him, they only wanted his money. We have an appointment Friday with the surgeon to get all cleared for surgery and it will be late September before they can schedule him for the surgery. I am upset that this condition was not mentioned by the one that read his eyes and wrote the prescription for his glasses.

Those stores have opticians who can dispense eyewear, & optometrists who can prescribe glasses or contacts based on tests to deyrminr the right Rx. For eye diseases, you should have an opthamologist who is a real MD do a complete exam.
