A stroke of genius or total madness?

Spoke with my solicitor today - she couldn't see anything in the legal pack from the Auction Property to cause concern so that's a good start. Worker friend is going to take a look at the house on Wednesday all being well. I shall be sending him a list of specific things to look at. Spoke with the agent handling the sale and the property does have a bit of a garden [that wasn't mentioned in the on line info]. Important for the feline family. Linzi [my solicitor] is also going to ask my buyer if he can give me a bit of an extension regards my moving out date. She's not overly hopeful but I figure it's worth asking. If he hasn't already booked his workers in he may be amenable. Don't ask - don't get. Mind you, I'm reminded of an attitude from when I was growing up. Ask - don't get, don't ask - don't want. That's dumb arse etiquette for you and doesn't apply in this situation. Same sort of attitude that meant when you visited Great aunt Flo and she offered you a second slice of cake you had to turn it down if you really wanted it because it would be greedy to say yes. On the other hand, if you really didn't want it, you had to say yes please so as not to appear rude. Family etiquette logic eh?
I've been looking more into van hire etc and have asked the family if any of them are up to the challenge of driving a Luton. And that's where the stroke of genius/total madness comes in. Because it occurred to me, what if my buyer won't extend beyond the 30th August but I can't complete the sale on the Auction place by then [assuming I go for it]? What's to stop me hiring the van for a week or so, loading up, then leaving my furniture and 'stuff' in it for a few days until the sale on the new place can be completed? Totally crazy or an inspired idea?
Sally and Annette are coming round tomorrow to help me with more packing. I pretty much sorted eldest son's old room today but I am finding it hard going so it will be good to have some helping hands. As much as anything just having company will be a huge bonus. This packing lark is tedious. I do feel so very blessed to have such friends.
