Blueberry Pie And My 2 Bite Rule

Every once in a while, I just live in the moment. That is a good thing to do when it comes to stress, but not when it comes to blueberry pie.
I live with Type 2 Diabetes, and my rule for living a life of balance and keeping my blood sugar levels low is to allow myself 2 bites of anything. Yesterday my husband made a delicious blueberry pie from the fresh blueberries that we picked the day before. The pie was warm, beautiful, and delicious. I ate a whole piece without even thinking about what it would do to my blood sugar levels.
My blood sugar level shot up 31 points from yesterday mornings reading. Now I'm heading out for my walk. Time to bring those levels back down! Next time, I'll eat just 2 bites.
