Being confident of this thing, that He who has begin a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ. even when we think the opposite of growth is happening.
Philippians 1:6

A friend who hasn't seen your new baby for a while says, "I can;t believe how much she's grown." Out of town for a week, we return and marvel at how our tomato plants are so much taller. Grandparents come for a visit and are amazed at how their teenage grandson is now taller than they are. Over time, growth is obvious, in the moment, it's impossible to see growth taking place.
The same is true of our spiritual growth. Remember these truths
1) God's purpose is to grow His children into the image of His firstborn Son,Jesus Christ.
2) Growth happens consistently and continually, even when we think the opposite of growth is happening.
3) We shall grow up to full maturity in Christ--God has promised it.
4)All growth requires nurturing. If we provide the nutrients of obedience and faithfulness, God promises, He will grow us up in Christ.
When you look for spiritual growth in your life, don't stand patiently in front of a mirror. Take the long view--trust in the promises of God's Word--and you should see the evidence of God at work in your life over time.
