Ren Fest Sewing Project

Friday, August 16, 2019

Well, my sewing deadline was 9pm, and I put the last stitch in at 8:55, snapped off the machine light and headed upstairs. Whew! I never in a million years thought this would be such a challenge!

This is the stretch knit under-tunic:

The heavy shirt and the vest [front]:

The ensemble, with the lightweight silk shirt:

I still haven't seen him in the complete outfit, just bits and pieces while we fitted things. Fingers crossed there are no wardrobe malfunctions over the weekend!

And lest you think I'm all done, I concluded that he needs a matching hat to finish off the whole "prosperous merchant" look. I have my dad's American Legion Post Commanders cap to use as a pattern.

EDIT: And here it is, mostly complete. (He's looking a little scruffy, cause I just grabbed him to try it on.)

He's gotten quite a few positive comments and is well pleased with the whole ensemble.
