Running:

Got in my 1.5 mile run last eve, so with my 6.5 mile run scheduled with the Galloway group tomorrow morning starting at (yawn) 5:30am, and the 2 miles I ran with Martin, I'll have my 10 miles in this week. I have my alarms set, shoe lights charged and clothes laid out.

Puppy:

Casey is doing just fine. WATERMELLEN told me about puppy kisses and now when he wants to nibble I just make kissy sounds and smack my lips and almost always he'll change to licking me! He is doing just fine with housebreaking as long as we take him out every 2 hours and don't rush him. He sleeps in a kennel at night now. I contacted Dog Sense Obedience school and found that he is welcome as soon as he gets all his shots, at about 4 months. He goes to vet next Wednesday.

Shoulder:

I finished the formal PT sessions Monday, but have been told to continue the exercises. Seems to me it is just gradually, gradually getting better. I've been told there is some arthritis and not to expect complete healing, but I'm not so sure. I have arthritis in hips that I never feel. I don't think arthritis is the issue. I no longer have shoulder pain waking me up and that is a great relief. My biggest problem is dressing. Even bras that close in the front hurt to zip. And I'm really slow dressing because I use right hand/arm only to pull up my pants! I am expecting more improvement, but we'll see.

Eating:

No binges, no terrible choices recently, but just haven't been as conscientious as I would like. Some of my clothes are snug which doesn't help my sore arm. Thinking about strategies that would work for me at this point.

Piano: (aka brain workout)

I'm practicing and enjoying. Will never perform at Carnegie Hall, but I feel that it is worth my money and my effort. Today I took puppy in and set him on a rug while I was playing. Hubby walked by the closed door of the room and puppy started yelping. I feel certain he wanted to go with hubby, although hubby says it was my piano playing. I shouldn't torture Casey like that! I do think he was kidding. Hope so!!

I am wishing us some dry weather. Hope it isn't raining, raining, raining where you are. And wishing you a healthy, happy, active day of smart eating and pursuing things that interest you!!

I enjoyed your blog! Congratulations on your new puppy! What breed is he? He looks super cute! Our Labrador Retriever puppy, Molly, is 10 months old now and has lots of energy emoticon . When my granddaughter plays the piano, Molly gets up on the bench and plays the piano with her, using her chin. She started off playing with her paws, but hit the piano keys so hard I thought she would damage them, not to mention that her loud playing wasn’t nice to listen too. Molly often starts playing the piano when we have company....show-off!

I hope your shoulder gets better soon. Your recovery seems to be at turtle pace, but at least it is going in the right direction. When your puppy gets bigger be careful of shoulder when walking him, especially if he pulls.

    Great job with your running!

I hope you will hang in there faithfully with the shoulder PT. My surgeon and PT people were great to make sure I knew my shoulder stuff would take a long while for maximum recovery. It helped immensely, because I knew ahead with of time. 🌺

If you can get the shoulder healed completely it all sounds pretty close to perfect over there. Hope the shoulder heals the rest of the way soon.

It will be a day of smart eating for me. Active? No. Pursuing things that interest me? Yes.

No rain here. It has been hot, hot, hot … Tuesday 109, Wednesday 112, yesterday 114. Today is *supposed* to be cooler and by tomorrow, much cooler. We shall see ...

Good luck with your shoulder. And about a puppy yelping (or crooning) when you play the piano: I used to worry that maybe it was hurting her ears, but the fact that she comes TO that spot and doesn’t run away convinced me that she must enjoy it. Or maybe dogs are all music critics???

Some good news, but sorry to hear of the continued arm struggles, of which I know so well. I haven't worn a bra in years since the shoulder got worse. In my case it was half already damaged by RA and then the osteo started in on it so double whammy. Have you been shown release by a tennis ball on trigger points? When my physio did this massage in the back of my neck and shoulder area, the shoulder felt better than it had in a long time, but only lasted a couple of days. Its something that has to be kept up, but I couldn't duplicate it (maybe my bed was too soft) Some myofascial release may help with the pain and stiffness. Essentially, it was laying on a tennis ball, on the areas you feel tenderness, pushing in a little and holding.
I agree with you that puppy was wanting to go with hubby when he heard him outside the door while playing piano. Given a choice, they would rather move than sit. Like me :-)
