My Hike

Mt Monadnock in Jaffrey, NH might be considered a small mountain, but we love the almost 5 miles of great workout and peace that we find from our climb.

We hiked up the Dublin Trail, and saw only 5 people on the ascent. It was a cloudy, cool start, which was perfect for us. Above tree line, there is no protection from the sun. We wore sunscreen and our favorite hats.

Our hike took us close to the Pumpelly Ridge which has the longest trail up the mountain.

My friend Alicia Drakiotes painted a lovely picture of the Pumpelly Ridge. I love the flowers and the color that I see in the painting. It captures how I feel when I'm climbing.

There were about 30 people on the summit. I love seeing people taking photos, walking and doing yoga on the summit as we approach.

After eating a PBJ on the summit, we hiked back down. I probably look a little tired in this photo. Well, I am! I worked my body for 4 hours, and was ready for a nice hot bath!

I slept well last night after my Monadnock climb!
