8/15/19 - Bedtime

Wednesday, August 14, 2019

The temperature was reasonable, I felt invincible, so I pulled the weeds at the back of the garage. There were a lot.

The summer vacation is over for the high school students. Yikes! I didn't go back to school until after Labor Day, and that included college.

I found some more ripe tomatoes - Early Girls and Garden Peaches. The Garden Peaches are yellow, a bit fuzzy, and kind of sweet.

Sweet dreams everyone!!!

I am with you on when school starts, For us it also was always in Sept. but then we didn't have these long spring breaks and our teachers didn't have those teachers days and stuff, For our Spring break it was, early release on Good Friday and back to school on Monday. Christmas was again early release on Christmas eve and back Jan 2nd, and you were really lucky if you got a snow day, as if there was anyway possible the buses were running. And we were always out for the summer in the last half of May, so we usually got a full 3 months off.

I love my fresh fruit at this time of year since they are grown in Ontario now.

Weeding... yup, a gardeners bane.... try having an interlocking driveway. We spray vinegar/water onto them, works great. But not the weeds in the garden... that's all hand pulled. Thick mulch helps. emoticon

Speaking of peaches, bought fresh peaches at the local produce stand today. Going back for green beans and new potatoes to make one of my favorite fall suppers. Tomorrow is supposed to be the nicest day of the week. A good day to be outside. DGD goes back next Wednesday and we have back to school night on Monday when she meets some of the new teachers.

    emoticon Have a good night.
